Pollination ecology workshop

Online

SONATA investigates how restoring seminatural grasslands can be a nature-based solution for increasing farmland biodiversity and including the abundance of insect pollinators, pollination services to crops, and thereby crop production. In this workshop guest lecturer Professor Ørjan Totland from the University of Bergen will set the stage by introducing us to the field of pollination ecology. The lecture will be followed by a hands-on exercise on the analysis of effects of pollinator abundance on crop pollination. Aim of the workshop is to familiarise participants with the field of pollination ecology and gain hands on experience from analyzing data on pollen limitation. The workshop ensures that SONATA NbS modelling is grounded not only in spatial patterns but also in ecosystem process dynamics and ecosystem service delivery.

Recreational Bicycle Ride from Kanjiža to the Artesian Well in Vojvoda Zimonjić

Kanjiža , Serbia

Participants will take part in a recreational cycling tour from Kanjiža to the artesian well in Vojvoda Zimonjića. The event aims to promote outdoor recreation, environmental awareness, and appreciation of local natural heritage.

SONATA Summer School

BioSense Institute Dr Zorana Đinđića 1, Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia

SONATA Summer School – From Soil to Landscape brings together soil science, biodiversity, spatial modeling, and policy to support sustainable land-use decisions. Using Vojvodina as a living laboratory, participants combine soil and microbiome data, habitat mapping, GIS tools, and stakeholder insights to co-create Nature-Based Solutions and spatial guidelines. The program links science, practice, and policy within the EU Soil Mission, biodiversity, and climate action context.
